Envirocrete by Boral
Boral has developed a new range of premixed concrete products using recycled and waste materials.
Their aim in
developing these products was to create concrete mixes that would
perform as well as, and in some cases better than, regular concrete
while minimising the impact on the environment.
Cement, the main binding agent for concrete, is an energy and emissions
intensive material. By substituting cement with other materials,
energy and resource consumption is reduced, reducing the environmental
impact.
Boral’s range of Envirocrete products replace 15–60% of cement with
industrial waste products. They also ensure that 20% of the aggregate
used is recycled.
The Envirocrete range can be used in a variety of projects from
foundations, paving, house slabs and even higher strength applications.
