The story
Gina and Tony desperately wanted a backyard with a French twist. Why?
So Gina’s brother and Parisian sister-in-law would feel more at home
when they visit Australia.
From the antique markets of Paris to the elaborate style of Versailles
to the charm of Monet’s garden at Giverney, Jamie found French
inspiration everywhere. Antiques, lavender and a summer house help to
turn this overgrown garden into a sophisticated outdoor room.
Plus, Shannon Bennett, the chef who taught Martha Stewart to soufflé,
brought French flavour to this outdoor renovation, preparing Hay Smoked
Lamb with Aubergine puree.
From the owners
Tony and I just love our little piece
of Paris in our backyard. My new French nephew was born the day after
our new garden was unveiled to us and we have now named it Cesar’s
Garden after him. My brother Mark, his wife Celine and babies Salome
and Cesar are coming to Australia for Christmas and will just love
their little piece of Paris Down Under!
Tony and I are growing into green thumbs rather quickly. Having been
given such a beautiful place to spend time in and share with friends
and family we feel obligated to keep it alive! This obligation has now
turned to joy as we spend at least a day every two weeks tending to our
little bit of Paris.
Thank you so much Jamie and crew... we would never in our wildest
dreams have imagined something like this if it weren't for you and your
amazing team! The professionalism was first class and the entire
process seamless and an absolute joy for us to be a part of.
PS – thanks for letting my mother stay in the house while you were
working, she is still telling stories about the transformation process!
