Hi guys,
As you may know, I've been flat out these last months working on my new TV show The Outdoor Room for HGTV, and it's premiering 10pm Friday, 1st January 10/9c!
As a concept, the outdoor room to me is about creating a space that inspires, that makes you want to be outdoors—entertaining with family and friends, relaxing and reflecting upon the day, playing with the kids. It is not only about functional design and creating comfort, but also about creating a space that represents your lifestyle and stylistic preferences, and also, simply, about being outdoors and letting nature soothe our souls.
The Outdoor Room TV show, is a celebration of these ideas. It is the result of over 20 years of travel and designing gardens in many different countries, and the desire to share what I’ve learned with as many people as possible! It's the show I've been waiting to make for 10 years!
The format of The Outdoor Room is to visit inspiring locations—both within the US and around the globe—and explore the architectural, cultural and design traditions of these locations, then take the best of these ideas and adapt them to the American lifestyle and climate, and importantly, to the families we’re creating gardens for.
