Guys – I am so excited!
Do you remember when it was such a big deal to be able to make a call…. from a ‘cell’ phone?! It was such a revolution to be able to actually speak to someone from outside of your house, from anywhere!
And haven’t phones come SO far since then. I am continually blown away by what we can do with something that fits into the palm of your hand. And that is why I am so thrilled to be launching my very own iPhone app: Garden Design with Jamie Durie. I am so proud of this application – it is a must have for anyone who has a garden of any size. It is packed with information on garden design – my philosophy and approach, inspirational gardens from around the world, gardening tips for every week of the year, complete with photos and videos.
But probably my favourite thing is the Plant Finder – this is like an encyclopedia (remember them?!) in your pocket. You can search for plants by name, or use your GPS location or zip code to find plants suited to where you are. Every plant has a beautiful full colour photo as well as everything you need to know about growing that plant. Add the plants you like to your favourites and you have an instant shopping list! You can even locate your local Monrovia store to go and buy the plants you like. Too easy!
I also want to see your gardens! You can load your own garden snaps to the app via Facebook so that other app users can view and comment on your garden. I will also be commenting on my favourite gardens too. But I’m not stopping there: I will be making a gardening visit to TWO of your gardens per year!
